Women's Participation in Decision-Making
As part of the social and economic recovery and women’s participation project in Yemen, implemented by the Hodeidah Girls Foundation with the support of the UN Women and funding from the Women, Peace and Humanitarian Fund, the Foundation supported the Hoor Development and Peace Foundation to conduct a consultative workshop on women’s participation in decision-making. The workshop was held in Taiz Governorate with 15 participants from youth leadership, local authorities, some political party representatives, and civil society organizations to enhance women’s role in decision-making. Participants, including political party representatives, local authorities, civil society organizations, and activists, discussed the concept of women’s participation in decision-making and the impact of their participation on social justice and sustainable development. They also discussed women’s role in decision-making, analyzed the current situation and challenges of women’s participation, and discussed policies and legislative measures to promote women’s participation in decision-making and develop specific policies related to women’s role in decision-making.
