The Hodeidah Girls Foundation strongly condemns the heinous crime committed against humanitarian worker Mouayad Hameedi, a member of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Taiz Governorate, which led to his death on Friday, July 21. We express our deepest condolences to his family, the WFP program, and its office in Yemen, and to all those who worked with him. We stand in full solidarity with them during these difficult times. This appalling crime targets the work of the World Food Programme and its significant humanitarian role in providing food aid to millions of displaced and conflict-affected Yemenis. Therefore, assassinating a humanitarian worker is a sinful act aimed at undermining the humanitarian efforts to meet the basic needs of deprived communities. As the Hodeidah Girls Foundation, we always encourage humanitarian work and call on all concerned parties to show responsibility and full cooperation to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice. We emphasize the importance of supporting humanitarian work, protecting workers in this vital field, and calling on all parties to the conflict in Yemen to condemn these heinous acts and cooperate in providing the necessary protection for relief workers and providing essential humanitarian supplies to the Yemeni people in these difficult times.
