Training course on “Occupational Safety” In order to ensure the safety of its employees, SDHGF implemented the “Occupational Safety” training course The course, which lasted for three days, targeted the guards of the foundation, the guards of the community center for the displaced affiliated to the foundation, and some employees of the foundation in the districts. The training course dealt with many important topics related to occupational safety, its definition, history, objectives and importance in voluntary work, where the trainer talked about the risks to which workers in the voluntary field and in areas of disasters and crises are exposed as well as the administrative and office risks. In the subject of risks, the course also talked about electrical hazards, work surfaces and traffic hazards, as well as physical, chemical, psychological and social risks. The trainer also dealt with stores and warehouses, the procedures need to be taken, as well as proper evacuation procedures. On the last training day, the trainer dealt with a very important axis, which is related to fires, methods of extinguishing fires, and general and important information about types of fire extinguishers and methods of using them. This axis permeated the practical application of how to use them and how to deal with them in case of any fire. The course concluded with the distribution of an evaluation form for the trainees and the training materials. The trainees expressed their admiration for this training material and talked about the extent of the benefit they gained from this course, which will be fruitful in their practical lives.
